1. Preheat the Air Fryer:
- Preheat your Air Fryer to 390°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes. Getting it hot before adding the food helps achieve better results.
2. Season Chicken and Vegetables:
- Place the chicken strips in a large bowl. Drizzle with the vegetable oil.
- Sprinkle the fajita seasoning over the chicken. Toss well to ensure the chicken is evenly coated.
- Add the sliced bell peppers and sliced red onion to the bowl with the seasoned chicken.
- Toss everything together thoroughly, making sure the vegetables also get coated with the oil and seasoning.
3. Air Fry:
- Place the seasoned chicken and vegetable mixture into the preheated air fryer basket. Try to arrange it in a relatively even layer, but it’s okay if it’s crowded.
- Air fry at 390°F (200°C) for 15 minutes total.
4. Toss Halfway Through:
- After about 7-8 minutes of cooking, open the air fryer basket and use tongs to toss the chicken and vegetables well. This ensures even cooking and charring.
- Continue air frying for the remaining 7-8 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the vegetables are tender-crisp and slightly charred.
5. Serve:
- Carefully remove the cooked chicken and vegetables from the air fryer basket.
- Serve immediately with warmed tortillas and your favorite fajita toppings like pico de gallo, avocado slices or guacamole, sour cream, cheese, and fresh cilantro.
