Strawberry Nutella Puff Pastry: An Effortlessly Elegant Treat

Discover how to make a simple yet stunning Strawberry Nutella Puff Pastry! This recipe uses just a few ingredients to create a delicious and impressive dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 whole Sheet Frozen Puff Pastry, Thawed
  • 1 Egg, Beaten (optional)
  • 1/2 cup Chocolate Hazelnut Spread, Such As Nutella

  • Fresh Sliced Strawberries

Instructions

1. Preheat and Prepare:

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Prepare the Puff Pastry:

  • Unfold the thawed puff pastry sheet on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Use a sharp knife to score the edges of the puff pastry, about 1 centimeter in from the edges. This creates a border that will puff up nicely in the oven.
  • Use a fork to prick the interior of the puff pastry all over. This prevents the center from puffing up too much.
  • If desired, brush the beaten egg along the scored edge of the puff pastry. This will give it a golden-brown color.

3. Bake the Puff Pastry:

  • Bake the puff pastry for 15 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown.

4. Flatten the Center:

  • Use a spatula to gently stamp down the interior of the puff pastry, creating a well for the filling. This separates the puffed edges from the center.
  • If desired, for a more golden and baked puff pastry, bake for 3 more minutes.

5. Add Fillings:

  • Spread the chocolate hazelnut spread evenly over the flattened center of the puff pastry.
  • Arrange the sliced strawberries in a single layer on top of the Nutella.

6. Slice and Serve:

  • Slice the pastry into squares or rectangles and serve immediately.
